When I started running:
I used to run the 800 metres at school and held the school record. However when I left school I didn’t really run again until I was well into my 30’s where I did a few 5km Race for Life events. I often walked part of the course as I didn’t really train.

Why I started running:
I started running seriously in my mid 30’s when I was offered the chance to run the London Marathon for the charity my husband and I foster for. At the beginning I couldn’t run for 10 minutes without stopping. I did my first London Marathon in 5.03 and have just completed my 8th London Marathon for Age UK in 4.28. My goal has always been to be able to run a marathon in 4.30. Aside from trying to become a better runner, running gives me a social outlet and has been so beneficial to my mental health.
